Somen noodles Furusatosodachi
Very thin wheat noodles called somen.
Japanese like to eat somen noodles during summer time. When it's very hot outside and you look for some freshness, these thin noodles eaten cold are very pleasant.
Dip them in a cold tsuyu sauce placed in a cup next to your plate before putting them in your mouth.
For a more complete meal, the traditional recipe is to sprinkle over the noodles some white ham, thin omelette and cucumber very finely cut.
